Pastor King was born in March of 1955 in Dallas Texas. He grew up in Grand Prairie Texas where he graduated from Grand Prairie High School. He married Cindy in January 1982. They were blessed with a son in 1985 and a daughter in 1987. He and Cindy also have three grandchildren. Pastor King accepted the call to ministry in 1991 and immediately enrolled at Arlington Baptist College. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors degree in Pastoral Ministry. From ’95 until ’04 he served as Associate Pastor and Pastor in different Baptist Churches. In March of 2004 Hope Fellowship Church was started. It wasn’t exactly clear at that time what the vision would be for the church. On January 1, 2006 it became clear God was leading Hope Fellowship to become the Non-Denominational Biker Church of Irving. Texas.

Bryan Guidry entered into this world on May 26, 1959. He moved to Irving in 2008 after working here for 29 years as an Irving Police officer. After retiring from Irving PD Bryan felt a calling to start his own business in September of 2008 called "It's a Leather Ministry" here Bryan and his wife Cindy ( Married many, many years ) sell Christian biker apparel, leather, helmets, glasses, buttons, patches, pens, exc. Bryan grew up in a Catholic Church were he thought he was saved at a very young age until, later in life understood the true meaning of giving your life to Christ, and was TRULY saved in September of 2004. Bryan has 4 children Brandy, Jeannie, Amber, and BJ. Bryan has been riding motorcycles off and on since the age of 18. If Bryan could tell you anything today it would be "to keep your focus and stay on path".

I have been riding motorcycles since I was fourteen years old. My first motorcycle was a Yamaha Enduro 125; wore the wheels off of it literally. My first experience with ministry was handing out gospel tracts with my mother, Joy Wadley, on street corners and door to door on Thursday nights in Graham Texas as a youngster, barely old enough to ride my bicycle to school. So, ministry is in my blood, soul and spirit. Don't get me wrong. I've had my fair share of party years. I fell away for 20 years or so. Serving the wrong God. Doing drugs and drinking. Came close to losing my freedom many, many times. But, this scripture comes down to truth! Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. My vision for Hope Fellowship Riders is to teach those to serve God who may have never, "stepped up to the plate". Maybe their scared or nervous to tell others about Christ. I can remember the first prison ministry I went on 4 yrs. ago. I was scared to death. But, after the Holy Spirit began using me, it was a wonderful and powerful ride. Kinda like ridin a motorcycle for the first time. After that, YOUR HOOKED! Just remember this: We have all been called according to "His purpose."

Debbie will tell you that it is truly a "God thing" that she came to Hope Fellowship church. She doesn't ride a bike, she is not a biker chick, she doesn't even live in Irving, she lives in Fort Worth. In February of 06 a friend invited her to come sing and she did. That very day she met Betty Yarborough who asked if she would be interested in helping with the 1st annual women's' retreat and being a gal that finds it hard to say no, she agreed. Later that year when God laid it on the heart of another member to start a praise band, he asked her if she would be interested in being the female lead vocalist. As things evolved, she stepped in as interim Worship leader, then several months later was asked to take the position as Worship Leader. She is humbled and honored to have found her home at Hope Fellowship Church & to be able to serve God with what gifts she has been given. Debbie "preaches" to everyone on the team that it's ALL about Him and not about us! This is God's worship team & He placed her here for as long as He needs her. At some point in time, He will bring someone else in to take the reins. Until then, she will sing, dance, praise her God & do her best to lead others into His Presence. All the time, proclaiming, "More of Him, less of us!"

Have you ever had an Ah-Ha moment? I accepted Christ at the age of 12; was in and out of church through my teens, twenties, and into my 30's because hey, you're supposed to go to church. It's what all good Christians do........right? It wasn't until I was 38 that I had my Ah-Ha moment and truly realized what God had been trying to tell me all those years....AND what it meant to truly fall in love with Him. He has blessed me with a love for student ministry. Teens are awesome, incredible, crazy, and absolutely fascinating! They are our next generation and I am thankful God has called me back into youth ministry. What an exciting place to serve! I have been doubly blessed with a great and supportive husband, Rick. We have wonderful boys (at least they’re still boys to us!), daughter-in-laws, and beautiful grandbabies. God has been very good to us. John 3:30 says “He must become greater and we must become less”. I’m still working toward that goal. Can’t wait until the day He is all and I am zip! And hey…..check us out on Facebook @ Hope Fellowship Student Ministries!

Children's Director: Lanell McDowellI grew up in the Assembly of God church. I was in a program called Missioner's as a child and have fond memories of this program. After having 3 children, I have been in the children's ministry since 1983. I have helped and coordinated nursery, Sunday school, mothers-day-out program, and Missonette's. I have written curriculum, have done many outreaches to Mexico with children and youth, puppet ministry, etc, etc. I truly have a heart for children and want to see them to trust in the Lord. It has been a blessing over the years to see the little ones you teach grow up and do the same. I have had several opportunities to see this happen. Donny & I were married in 1980 and have raised 3 children along with many of their friends who have needed refuge. So I really don't know how many children I have, but I count them all a part of me. I look forward to seeing Hope Fellowship King's Kids grow in the Lord and have a desire to share Christ with others.

Women's Ministry: Betty Yarbrough
When she
was in her late 30s, Betty says she woke up one morning with an
overpowering feeling that she was missing something.....she calls
it the day God gave her a dose of "Vitamin J" She spent the next
13 years meeting God as often as she could, and allowing Him to feed
her "spiritual" milk. As quickly as she could hold her "sippee cup"
on her own, she was off and running: reading and digesting and
applying as much of the Word of God as possible, and nurturing her
new-found love of Jesus Christ.
She tells other women
that sleep gets in her way, but it is a great way for the Holy
Spirit to speak to her because only when she is sleeping is she
quiet enough to hear Him. For those who know her, they will tell
you that Betty is quite verbose! Her spiritual gifts of
communication, humor, compassion and leadership are blessings to
the ladies God places within her midst.
Betty attributes her
spiritual growth to years of study at Irving Bible Church, where
she was strongly rooted as a leader in women's ministry, under the
mentorship of both Pastors to Women, Sue Edwards and Jackie Roese,
who helped her recognize her God-given talents.
It was early in 2005
that God tugged on her heartstrings, and set her feet upon an
exciting and new journey as His servant at Hope Fellowship Church
in women's ministry. (Titus 2) Betty believes a woman's walk with
God is the most important thing in her life, complimented in vivid
color by the stirring of the Holy Spirit to leave behind a
spiritual legacy to her earthly family, as well as her brothers and
sisters in Christ. |

In late August of 1981 I woke up in the emergency room from a second drug over dose in two months. They sent me directly to a mental institution where they kept me for 90 days. I was facing my 2nd & 3rd felony charges and had lost my job, home, and motorcycle. I was homeless, jobless, and penniless, and was in total desperation for my life and my sanity until…….I found Jesus! I went to 12 step fellowships and it opened my eyes to a loving and forgiving god that changed my life forever. In my travels, I met pastor Dennis King at Hope Fellowship church and found a home. Today I live a life better than any life I could have ever imagined, and it’s truly by god’s grace that I’m alive and free today.
